The Rules (Sort Of)
We say there are no rules, and we mean it. But here are a few things to keep everything running smoothly(ish):
Need Nots (aka, what you don’t need to worry about)
- Your work doesn’t need to have run. If it never saw the light of day, even better.
- It doesn’t need to be for your client. Or any client. Or anyone real, really.
- You don’t need to own the rights to the brand you’re using – just a good idea and the nerve to enter it.
- Your entry doesn’t have to be honest, decent, or finished, but please try to keep it legal.
- Work doesn’t need to meet production standards. Napkin sketches welcome.
Musts (aka, the tiny bit of order in the chaos)
- Work in any language is fine - as long as it comes with English subtitles, dubbing, or some way of understanding it (unless it doesn’t need any words at all).
- The judges may move your entry to a more suitable category if they see fit - or drop a category altogether if entries aren’t up to scratch. (No refunds if that happens.)
- The judges' decision is final. No arguing, bribing, or sob stories.
- Due to the volume of entries, we can’t provide individual feedback. Sorry.
- B y entering, you agree that The Drum can publish images or screen grabs of your work.
